A palate pleasing plain recipe.
A single salad and this casserole is a complete meal. For sore mouth, finely chop shrimp.
Makes 6 to 8 servings
Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Cook the rice in the water according to the package directions. Set aside. Combine the shrimp, salt and pepper, and the cooked rice. Heat the cheese and milk together in the microwave or in a small pan over medium-low heat until melted, and mix with the rice mixture. Transfer to a 2-quart casserole dish, sprinkle with bread crumbs, and bake for 15 minutes or until well heated.
